Many districts in Dubai are one of a kind and it's a fact with Palm Jumeirah.

Palm Jumeirah is the collective name of a series of artificial islands that were built off the coast of the Persian Gulf and were made in the rough shape of a palm tree. It is one of several planned man-made archipelagos in the area. The islands were created using a modern land reclamation technique, and construction first started in 2001, though residents did not begin living there until 2006. It is the largest artificial island in the world, and contains many hotels and resorts in addition to its residential properties. Though carefully engineered, Palm Jumeirah suffered many economical and eventually physical issues, and appears to be unexpectedly sinking back into the sea at a rate of 5 millimeters per year.
