About Dubai Creek
Dubai Creek is a body of saltwater that divides Dubai into two major parts, consisting of Deira on one side and Bur Dubai on the other.
The Creek has traditionally served as a commercial port for vessels coming into the city, and also severed as the basis for the city's pearling industry prior to the mid 20th century. The Creek has been modified artificially somewhat in order to make the passage of vessels easier, though its use as a major port has diminished over the years in favor of others. Many important buildings lie along the creek, such as Dubai Creek Tower and the Deira Twin Towers.
